Maureen Lucas, EA, MTax, NTPI Fellow
Maureen Lucas is a licensed Enrolled Agent specializing in tax services including individuals, small businesses, trusts, gifts, and estates. She is a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute, which is an advanced credential in representation before taxing authorities. She holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from Nova Southeastern University and has been working in taxation and accounting for over 27 years. Maureen obtains a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education annually to help her keep up with the ever changing tax code. She enjoys these classes and always looks forward to furthering her education. Maureen is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
The part of her job that Maureen enjoys most is working closely and personally with her clients. She has a particular interest in women-owned small businesses. She seeks to empower businessowners with the knowledge, tools, curiosity, and confidence to grow and think strategically and wholistically about their businesses and how their taxes and finances play a role in the bigger picture of their success. Maureen works with many clients who want a “premium full-service” approach and want her to simply handle all of the details. Other clients prefer to be more hands-on themselves and enjoy learning how to manage their personal and business finances so they can take the reins on many of the tasks themselves. She especially enjoys easing someone’s concerns about the process of tax preparation, tax filing, or business or personal finances. “I especially enjoy helping to alleviate the fear and nervousness that is often present for clients when dealing with taxes and finances. I try to arm my clients with as much (or sometimes as little) information as they want in order to help them make sense of taxes and finances. It makes the process so much less intimidating for them.”
Maureen lives in Milford with her family and works with local youth and is very involved in community service.
